(FILE photo courtesy of NCTD)<\/p>\n<p>Rail riders in San Diego County should plan ahead: all COASTER service will be suspended the weekend of Sept. 20\u201321 as crews complete maintenance and infrastructure projects along the coastal tracks.<\/p>\n<p>During the closure, NCTD\u2019s COASTER service between San Diego and Oceanside will not operate. Regularly scheduled service will resume Monday morning, Sept. 22.<\/p>\n<p>The planned suspension is part of periodic weekend closures scheduled throughout the year to give construction crews safe access to the tracks for preventative maintenance and major railroad construction projects.<\/p>\n<p>Work planned for Sept. 20\u201321 includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization Phase 5<\/li>\n<li>Track maintenance at Sorrento Valley Station<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although no passenger or freight trains will operate during the closure, test trains, construction vehicles, and equipment will be active along the rail corridor.
