{"id":216824,"date":"2025-09-11T00:17:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T00:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/216824\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T00:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T00:17:10","slug":"netanyahu-pledges-to-target-opponents-abroad-after-strike-in-qatar-israel-palestine-conflict-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/216824\/","title":{"rendered":"Netanyahu pledges to target opponents abroad after strike in Qatar | Israel-Palestine conflict News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israeli Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/8\/israeli-strikes-kill-five-in-lebanon-in-latest-ceasefire-breach\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> has threatened to try to kill Hamas leaders in Qatar again if Doha does not expel the group\u2019s officials, drawing a sharp response from Doha.<\/p>\n<p>Unfazed by international outrage over the attack in the Qatari capital, Netanyahu said on Wednesday that countries should \u201capplaud\u201d Israel for its bombing and killing spree across the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI say to Qatar and all nations who harbour terrorists, you either expel them or you bring them to justice \u2014 because if you don\u2019t, we will,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The comments came a day after Israel carried out an unprecedented attack in Qatar, targeting senior Hamas leadership in Doha as discussions on a US-backed ceasefire proposal for Gaza were under way.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a condemnation of the Israeli prime minister\u2019s comments, calling them a \u201cshameful attempt \u2026 to justify the cowardly attack that targeted Qatari territory, as well as the explicit threats of future violations of state sovereignty\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNetanyahu is fully aware that the hosting of the Hamas office took place within the framework of Qatar\u2019s mediation efforts requested by the United States and Israel,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch statements are hardly surprising coming from an individual who relies on extremist rhetoric to win elections and is wanted for international justice, facing mounting sanctions on a daily basis \u2013 factors that only deepen his isolation on the global stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In just three days, Israel has launched attacks in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Tunisia and Qatar, while continuing daily raids in the occupied West Bank. On Wednesday, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/10\/israel-attacks-yemen-capital-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">killed 35 people<\/a> in an attack in Yemen.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Israel was slammed for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/3\/unifil-says-israeli-drones-drop-grenades-close-to-peacekeepers-in-lebanon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dropping grenades<\/a> near the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Al Jazeera\u2019s Hamdah Salhut said, \u201cIsrael again has no problem meddling into the internal affairs of another country or violating international law, and the sovereignty of other nations by getting involved in military conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen it repeatedly in this region, but not just during the war on Gaza. We\u2019ve seen it throughout Netanyahu\u2019s political career, and Netanyahu is saying he\u2019s going to take matters into his own hands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsrael doesn\u2019t seem to care what the rest of the world are thinking \u2013 despite all the criticisms and violations of international law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is state terror\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Separately on Wednesday, in an interview with CNN, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani described Israel\u2019s attack on Doha as \u201cstate terror\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no words to express how enraged we are from such an action \u2026 this is state terror,\u201d Sheikh Mohammed said on Wednesday. \u201cWe are betrayed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister added that the United States has expressed its support for Qatar \u201con many occasions\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Mohammed added that Israel\u2019s actions had \u201ckilled any hope\u201d for the captives remaining in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was meeting one of the hostages\u2019 families the morning of the attack,\u201d he said. \u201cThey are counting on this [ceasefire] mediation. They have no other hope for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that what [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu has done yesterday, he just killed any hope for those hostages,\u201d the prime minister added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe needs to be brought to justice,\u201d Sheikh Mohammed said. \u201cHe\u2019s the one who\u2019s wanted at the [International Criminal Court or ICC].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that someone like him trying to lecture about the law \u2014 he\u2019s breaking every law \u2014 he broke every international law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu, along with Israel\u2019s former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, is accused by the ICC of war crimes related to Israel\u2019s actions in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>Gulf states respond<\/p>\n<p>Regional leaders have rushed to Doha in the aftermath of the strike.
