{"id":216893,"date":"2025-09-11T00:56:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T00:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/216893\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T00:56:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T00:56:11","slug":"asia-markets-open-mixed-after-wall-street-gains-on-positive-inflation-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/216893\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia markets open mixed after Wall Street gains on positive inflation data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Asia-Pacific markets opened mixed Thursday after Wall Street continued to reach record highs over Fed-rate cut hopes and positive inflation data.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s benchmark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nikkei 225<\/a> rose 0.23% in early trade, while the Topix index retreated 0.18%.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kospi<\/a> advanced 0.67%, and the small-cap Kosdaq was up 0.2%.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Australia, the ASX\/S&amp;P 200 declined 0.29%.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Hong Kong&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hang Seng Index<\/a> was set to open lower with the futures contract at 25,994, compared with the index&#8217;s last close at 26,200.26.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. equity futures were little changed in early Asian hours, as Wall Street awaited a key consumer inflation gauge for August due out Thursday morning stateside.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight stateside, most of the key U.S. benchmarks rose to hit new record closing highs after the latest producer price index data showed that inflation was cooling.<\/p>\n<p>The broad market <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> finished up 0.3% at 6,532.04, a record close for the index. It had risen about 0.7% at its peak to 6,555.97, scoring a new all-time intraday high as well. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0edged up 0.03% to end at 21,886.06, likewise notching a closing high after hitting an all-time intraday high before its afternoon pullback.
