{"id":217079,"date":"2025-09-11T02:38:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T02:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/217079\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T02:38:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T02:38:11","slug":"houston-avenue-bridge-repairs-to-cause-major-katy-freeway-closures-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/217079\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston Avenue bridge repairs to cause major Katy Freeway closures this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 Drivers should prepare for major detours this weekend as crews perform emergency repairs on the Houston Avenue bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The closures are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, and last through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Closures include the following:<\/p>\n<p><b>I-10 Katy Freeway eastbound from Shepherd\/Durham to Houston Avenue<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Drivers will be detoured to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, then directed through a series of connectors using I-610 and I-45 to return to I-10 eastbound.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p><b>I-10 Katy Freeway eastbound from Antoine Drive to Shepherd Drive<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Four left lanes will be closed. A single lane will remain open for local traffic only. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Motorists are advised to use the I-610 West Loop northbound to I-610 North Loop eastbound, then I-45 southbound to rejoin I-10 eastbound.<\/p>\n<p><b>I-610 West Loop northbound and southbound connector ramps to I-10 Katy Freeway eastbound <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Drivers will detour onto I-10 westbound, exit at Chimney Rock, make a U-turn, and continue eastbound on I-10. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">From there, motorists can reconnect to I-610 and I-45 southbound to rejoin I-10.<\/p>\n<p><b>Houston Avenue bridge, northbound and southbound at I-10 Katy Freeway<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Northbound detour:<\/b> Right on Hogan Street, left on N. Main Street, left on Quitman Street, right on Houston Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Southbound detour:<\/b> Left on Quitman Street, right on N. Fulton Street, right on Hogan Street, left on Houston Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Houston Avenue bridge is scheduled for demolition in early 2027 as part of the I-10 White Oak Bayou elevation project.
