The levies are reviewed each year to ensure the dairy and beef industries fund each programme proportionately in alignment with respective programme funders agreements. The TB Slaughter Levy Rate for dairy cattle from 1 October 2025 changes from $12.25 per head to $14.50 per head (an increase of $2.25). The Differential Slaughter Levy (DSL) for beef cattle will remain unchanged at $4.50 per head. The DSL levy rates are adjusted to reflect the latest dairy and beef Farm Gate Values, slaughter volumes and actual levies collected in prior years. From 1 October 2025, the M. bovis\u00a0levies will decrease by 50 percent, or 0.4 cents per kilogram of milk solids produced in New Zealand by a dairy farmer for supply to a dairy processor and 40 cents per head for beef cattle slaughtered. The M. bovis\u00a0levy rates are adjusted to reflect the latest dairy and beef slaughter volumes and milk production volumes and actual levies collected in prior years.
