\"\"Sept. 11. Jace Thompson, who passed away at age 5 from an aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer, will be honored this weekend by Joe Gibbs Racing during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Warrior Jace Thompson Foundation is partnering with JGR\u2019s No. 54 car on Saturday to help promote its mission and raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer\u00a0Awareness Month in September.<\/p>\n

The car, driven by Ty Gibbs and sponsored by Monster Energy, will display Jace\u2019s name above the passenger-side window. JGR will also share videos and interviews on its social media platforms leading up to the race, which will be attended by Jace\u2019s parents. His mother, Jennifer, is the deputy chief of the Cornelius Police Department.<\/p>\n

Jace passed away in 2018 after being diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a rare and devastating form of pediatric brain cancer. His parents created the foundation to spread awareness and to help address the lack of funding for childhood cancer research.<\/p>\n

To date, the foundation has raised nearly $350,000 to help fund clinical trials for pediatric brain cancer treatment.<\/p>\n
