Happy Thursday,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Literature has been a fundamental part of my life. As a kid, I was always carrying a book with me. Anytime I finished a class assignment early, I\u2019d lose myself in my favorite authors\u2019 words. That love for reading created the path for me to pursue a career in journalism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you enjoy reading as much as I do, check out the Trinity River Book Festival this Saturday<\/strong><\/a>. The Dock Bookshop brings the family-friendly event back for its fourth iteration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also, I will be moderating the \u201cArts Sampler\u201d panel at SteerFW\u2019s State of the Arts conference in the Near Southside this weekend. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the various scenes in the city, including visual art, theater and poetry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Watch firefighters, first responders honor 9\/11 victims at downtown climb<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Participants will climb 110 floors in the Bank of America Tower in homage to the 110 floors of the World Trade Center. A local pipe and drum band will start the ceremony with a rendition of \u201cAmazing Grace\u201d followed by a moment of silence. There will be a designated area for spectators.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vibe to Mexican corridos while sipping on your favorite cafecito\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Fort Worth-based musical group Escolta Alegre returns to the Northside for an event that blends coffee, frozen mangonadas and matcha with performances and community. Live music begins at noon.<\/p>\n

SteerFW, a nonprofit focused on civic engagement, brings together local leaders to discuss the present and future of the arts communities. Panels include Arts Sampler, Cultural Heritage, Arts Education and Arts Funding & Support. <\/p>\n

Where: <\/strong>Amphibian Stage, 120 S. Main St., Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Look back in time through Roman sculptures on North American stop<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The largest private collection of ancient Roman sculpture is making one of three stops on the artifacts\u2019 first tour outside of Europe. Of the nearly 60 works that will be on display, 24 restored pieces will be shown for the first time in nearly a century.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What: <\/strong>\u2018Myth and Marble: Ancient Roman Sculpture from the Torlonia Collection\u2019<\/p>\n
