Tucker joined other dignitaries at the hallowed site in Lower Manhattan, where the thousands who died during the attacks were remembered.<\/p>\n<p>New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and her New Jersey counterpart, Phil Murphy, were also in attendance, as were Democratic mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani and ex-Gov. AP<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica\u2019s Mayor\u201d Rudy Giuliani \u2014 who led the city in the aftermath of the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/11\/us-news\/rudy-giuliani-arrives-at-ground-zero-for-9-11-memorial-ceremony-in-wheelchair-body-brace\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">appeared in a heavy body brace<\/a> following his car crash last month, joined by his son.<\/p>\n<p>FBI Director Kash Patel was also there \u2014 while JD Vance was forced to cancel his planned visit in order to fly to Utah <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/10\/us-news\/charlie-kirk-assassination-person-of-interest-released-gunman-still-at-large-fbi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after the assassination of Charlie Kirk<\/a> \u2014 as President Trump and first lady Melania Trump paid separate respects at the Pentagon.<\/p>\n<p>Former FDNY Commissioner Tom Von Essen was also in attendance at the heartfelt <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/09\/11\/bells-toll-as-the-us-marks-22-years-since-9-11-from-ground-zero-to-alaska\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">morning remembrance at Ground Zero <\/a>as New Yorkers stopped to mourn the deadliest terror attack ever to strike US soil.<\/p>\n<p>A firefighter pays his respects at the 9\/11 Memorial. It bubbles up to the surface every September,\u201d said Von Essen, who was fire commissioner on 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSept.11 was the worst.\u00a0We lost 343 firefighters. They put out to save total strangers. Tamara Beckwith\/NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people gathered in New York City for six moments of silence Thursday morning to solemnly commemorate the key times of the attacks, including when both World Trade Center towers were struck and fell, and the times of the attack on the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93.<\/p>\n<p>Family members then read the names of the fallen loved ones, a somber yearly ritual. <\/p>\n<p>Others in attendance included former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Sen. Chuck Schumer.<\/p>\n<p>Before the ceremony, Adams drew a connection between the hateful roots behind the terrorist attacks and Wednesday\u2019s shocking assassination of Kirk \u2014 a conservative influencer who was shot dead at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the same hate that drove two planes into the World Trade Center,\u201d the mayor told \u201cFox and Friends\u201d before the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we don\u2019t turn down the rhetoric of hate speech it will be tragic for us all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony took place at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan Thursday.
