Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.

Every adoption is more than a happy ending, it’s a life saved. The Humane Society of North Texas wants to build a community where pets and people save each other. For the pet, it’s a second chance at love and security. For the adopter, it’s the joy of welcoming a loyal companion. And for the community, it’s hope — because each adoption opens space for another animal waiting for rescue.

Sometimes the best pets are the ones with a little character. Take Rocco, for example, a 2-year-old shepherd mix with one ear that just won’t stand up straight and a smile that brightens even the gloomiest day. Rocco is the definition of “go with the flow.” He knows his basic commands, walks beautifully on a leash and has mastered the art of polite manners. And while he’s happy to show off his “sit” skills, let’s be honest, it’s the promise of a treat that really seals the deal. We don’t judge. That’s just Rocco being Rocco: chill, sweet and ready to be someone’s best friend.

Then there’s Atlas, a tabby kitten whose tiny body can barely contain his big personality. Atlas is a 3-month-old whirlwind of playful energy, racing in circles, chasing shadows and investigating every nook and cranny like a pint-sized explorer on a mission. But when the day winds down, he melts into a puddle of purrs, settling in close for scratches and snuggles. A little wild, a little sweet, Atlas is the perfect reminder that joy often comes wrapped in fur and tied up in whiskers and sprinkled with mischief.

Both Rocco and Atlas are waiting for their second chance at the Humane Society of North Texas, along with hundreds of other pets. Adoption at HSNT is more than bringing home a companion — it’s giving them the love and security they deserve, and opening space for another life to be saved.

The details: Where compassion meets action

To set adopters and their new best friend up for success, every Humane Society of North Texas adoption includes:

spay/neuter surgery.

up-to-date vaccines.

a microchip.

a free first exam at a participating veterinarian.

one month of complimentary pet insurance.

Adoption fees are based on a variety of factors, such as age, size, length of stay and public demand.
