Police are investigating after a woman was shot during an incident that happened Philly’s Spring Garden section on Thursday afternoon, officials said.<\/p>\n
According to police, a 51-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks during an incident that happened at about 2:05 p.m. along the 1700 block of Mount Vernon Street. <\/p>\n
The woman, officials said, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition. <\/p>\n
A neighbor who heard the shooting told NBC10 that she believed the shooting happened as a result of a fight.<\/p>\n
“There’s like yelling and screaming and I was like, ‘I really do hope everything’s okay,'” she said. <\/p>\n
Navin Ekezue, a neighbor who lives in the area, noted that she heard shouting from an argument overnight hours prior to the shooting, as well.<\/p>\n
Also, she heard at least two gunshots when the incident occurred. <\/p>\n
“This is kind of, really shocking,” Ekezue said.<\/p>\n
Police have arrested a women in this incident and a weapon was recovered at the scene, officials said. <\/p>\n
