{"id":219616,"date":"2025-09-12T01:29:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T01:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/219616\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T01:29:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T01:29:12","slug":"jacksonville-aunt-demands-accountability-after-teens-alleged-relationship-with-bus-driver-104-5-wokv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/219616\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville aunt demands accountability after teen\u2019s alleged relationship with bus driver \u2013 104.5 WOKV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A Jacksonville woman is calling for more accountability from Student Transportation of America (STA) after discovering her 17-year-old niece was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with one of the company\u2019s bus drivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">Natalie Lacey, a former STA driver herself, says she found evidence of the relationship in text messages and Instagram DMs. She reported it to STA, hoping the company would take swift action.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">\u201cI felt compelled to go to them first because I worked with those people there for twenty years,\u201d Lacey said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/live-breaking\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/live-breaking\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>&gt;&gt;&gt; STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">Days later, the Department of Children and Family Services and Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office detectives visited her home. But Lacey says she hasn\u2019t heard from the bus company since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">\u201cThey should have said, \u2018We\u2019re going to work with you. We\u2019re going to get to the bottom of it. We\u2019re going to follow up.\u2019 They have not reached out to me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">STA confirmed the incident, telling Action News Jax:<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">\u201cThe safety and well-being of the students we transport is always our top priority. As soon as this allegation came to our attention, the driver was immediately removed from routes and is no longer employed with the company. We are fully cooperating with local authorities and Duval County Public Schools as the investigation continues. There is zero tolerance for actions that put students at risk. Safety is a non-negotiable condition of every driver\u2019s employment with Student Transportation of America. STA immediately reported the allegations to the Department of Children and Families per mandated reporter requirements and began an internal investigation. The driver subsequently resigned from employment with the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\"><b>[DOWNLOAD: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/mobile-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a><b>]<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">Duval County Public Schools also addressed the matter:<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">\u201cWe are aware that the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating this serious report involving an STA employee. STA notified the district of the allegation on Aug. 20, and student safety was our immediate priority. Working with STA, we ensured the driver was promptly removed from serving our schools. This matter is being investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, who was contacted directly by the guardian, and the district is fully cooperating with their investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">Lacey says her niece is still dealing with the aftermath. She urges other parents to stay vigilant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 dbPNdY body-paragraph\">\u201cStart looking at those phones.
