Mike McCord said in an email. <\/p>\n<p>Assault on a family or house member is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Tamper with governmental record with intent to make genuine<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 4, officers investigated the tampering of a government document, McCord said. <\/p>\n<p>Tampering with governmental record with intent to make genuine is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to a year in jail or both. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Credit card or debit card abuse<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 4, a female staff member reported an unauthorized transaction on her university procurement card, McCord said. <\/p>\n<p>Credit or debit card abuse is a state jail felony punishable by imprisonment of 180 days to two years in jail, a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Sexual assault and unlawful restraint<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 6, a female faculty member reported an alleged sexual assault involving a male faculty member, McCord said. <\/p>\n<p>Sexual assault and unlawful restraint is a second-degree felony punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice between two and 20 years.
