{"id":22028,"date":"2025-06-28T14:39:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T14:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/22028\/"},"modified":"2025-06-28T14:39:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T14:39:11","slug":"fireworks-bbqs-and-fiestas-planned-for-july-4th-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/22028\/","title":{"rendered":"Fireworks, BBQs and fiestas planned for July 4th weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Fourth of July only a few days out, San Antonio residents can look forward to a variety of red, white and blue themed events around town.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate at Woodlawn Lake<\/p>\n<p>Starting with the main event: The San Antonio Parks Foundation is partnering with the city and H-E-B to host the Fourth of July Celebration, happening 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. July 4 at Woodlawn Lake Park, on 1103 Cincinnati Avenue.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carnival rides, games, wrestling matches, food and giveaways are on the list of activities culminating with a fire works show, with music provided by Amanda \u201cDJ Celebr8\u201d Trevi\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Free fitness activities begin at 8 a.m. and are open to the public. They are first come-first served and need no pre-registration, and include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water aerobics class at the Woodlawn Lake Park Public Pool from 8-9 a.m..<\/li>\n<li>Zumba at the Woodlawn Lake Gym from 9-11 a.m..<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vendor booths and food trucks will be onsite from 11 a.m through 9:30 p.m serving turkey legs, BBQ, burgers, tacos, gorditas, aguas frescas, raspas, and the San Antonio-favorite chicken on a stick.<\/p>\n<p>Ready to Work SA, voter registration booths and a Spurs merch truck will also be present offering activities of their own.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For younger audiences, children\u2019s activities will be hosted by the San Antonio Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>Wrestling matches will also be featured from noon to 5 p.m., hosted by Texas Wrestling and Entertainment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Welcome Salute at 7 p.m. will feature the Bexar County Commissioners and San Antonio City Council members, with a patriotic drone and fireworks show at 9 p.m. to end the night.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that you bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, reusable water bottles, sunscreen, umbrellas and hats.<\/p>\n<p>More information, including park guidelines and a map of the park, can be found on the San Antonio Parks Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/saparks.org\/events\/h-e-b-4th-of-july-celebration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Downtown hosts family fun<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Downtown San Antonio will have its own celebrations going on from an artisan show to a parade.<\/p>\n<p>First, the River Walk Artisan Shows provide an opportunity to shop from about 40 handmade artisan booths that include pottery, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, paintings and beadwork.<\/p>\n<p>The shows will be located at the River Walk Extension by the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/CFGJ9QDPcqeHncvU7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Building and the Shops at Rivercenter<\/a> from July 3-6.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the full schedule, check the San Antonio River Walk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com\/events\/artisan-shows\/#schedule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On July 4, the second annual Stars and Stripes on Houston Street, a patriotic parade starts at 11 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The parade will begin on East Houston Street, just south of Legacy Park, and will end on Jefferson Street, east of Travis Park. Bringing a chair is recommended. The parade map can be seen <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/682b56f39eb94d47aa990a94\/t\/684c6125e62ba73ea707ac15\/1749836070191\/2025_SSoHS_ParadeMap1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thealamo.org\/visit\/stars-stripes-salute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A Star and Stripes Salute<\/a> also will also take place July 4 at the Plaza de Valero at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/300+Alamo+Plaza,+San+Antonio,+TX+78205\/@29.426145,-98.4864009,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x865c5f552fb340a9:0x120b1c78ed484c30!8m2!3d29.426145!4d-98.4864009!16s%2Fg%2F11crrp280d?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDYyMy4yIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alamo<\/a>, featuring activities, food trucks and live music from the U.S. Air Force Band of the West.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Family activities will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with live music playing from 7-9:30 p.m., and fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>From July 4-6, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketsquaresa.com\/Events\/Event-Details\/ArtMID\/27526\/ArticleID\/28099\/evr\/1\/July-4th-Weekend-Celebration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Historic Market Square<\/a> will host its own free Independence Day celebration as well. Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the three days will showcase live music, themed characters, face paintings, food and other activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theme park celebrations heighten the fun factor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for heightened holiday excitement, visit one of San Antonio\u2019s theme parks for Fourth of July celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Sea World San Antonio will host a Fireworks Spectacular for park guests July 4-5. The firework show is set for 9:45 p.m. and is included with park admission. More information can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/seaworld.com\/san-antonio\/events\/fourth-of-july-celebration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be showcasing its own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/fiestatexas\/events\/star-spangled-nights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Star-Spangled Nights Fireworks<\/a> at 9:15 p.m. on July 4.
