Police have apprehended a person who repeatedly showed \u201chostile behaviour\u201d at Yellowknife\u2019s Stanton Territorial Hospital, the NWT\u2019s health authority says.<\/p>\n

In a Thursday evening news release, the health authority said the person was detained at about 10am after causing concern that morning and on another occasion earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

Exactly what occurred on either occasion was not specified. RCMP have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n

The health authority said it had issued a news release \u201cto make the public in Yellowknife aware\u201d of what had taken place.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NTHSSA takes situations that may pose a threat to the safety of others very seriously. We would like to reassure residents that there is currently no threat to public safety at STH,\u201d the health authority wrote, using initialisms for itself and the hospital. <\/p>\n

\u201cAll necessary procedures for incidents of this kind were followed and the situation was contained quickly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NTHSSA would also like to express its gratitude to the staff and security at STH for their swift and effective response in mitigating the situation, as well as to the RCMP for their prompt and timely action.\u201d<\/p>\n
