It did not go well.

DALLAS — Fuel City has gas pumps galore, and the occasional resident livestock on property. But really, the North Texas gas station chain is known for one thing: Tacos.

The Fuel City tacos are a local favorite, at least among those not found at a hole-in-the-wall.

Keith Lee, however, is not impressed.

The viral TikTok food reviewer gave Fuel City a try (at the behest of his commenters, urging him to go) in his latest video. The review did not go well for Fuel City.

Lee said he ordered $25 worth of food, including three different tacos, elote, and a quesadilla. He scored the chicken taco a 5 out of 10, an ominous start — and, it turned out, that was the best it would get for Fuel City.

 @keith_lee125

Fuel City Tacos taste test 💕 would you try it ? 💕 #foodcritic

♬ original sound – Keith Lee

Lee’s complaint about the chicken taco? Too much lime flavor.

He moved onto the al pastor taco and found it too salty, scoring it a 3 out of 10.

The beef taco didn’t fare much better; another salt complaint from Lee, who questioned if they seasoned the “like ground beef” meat at all. He chalked up another 3 out of 10.

Then he moved onto a cup of elote, and shook his head from the beginning.

“Absolutely not,” Lee said after one bite, criticizing the butter and sour cream making the dish “too dairy forward.” He gave it a zero (0) out of 10.

Lee looked at the quesadilla and passed.

“I’m done for the day,” he said.

Speaking of salt, he took some of it and poured it on an open wound with this parting thought:

“My wife is from California, so I’m spoiled when it comes to tacos,” Lee said. “I’ve seen a debate, people talking about Texas or California when it comes to Mexican food … California all the way.
