We also get a release date for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/metroid-prime-4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metroid Prime 4<\/a>, a glimpse of a new Fire Emblem, and more. But onto the video game news! Or rather movie news. Yup, Nintendo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/heres-your-first-look-at-the-mario-movie-sequel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shared a first look at the Mario movie sequel<\/a>, confirming it&#8217;ll officially be titled The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/super-mario-galaxy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Super Mario Galaxy<\/a> Movie when it arrives next year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Super Mario Galaxy 1 &amp; 2 are making a return<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Super Mario Galaxy 1 &amp; 2 trailer.<a class=\"video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=21HVvGkVV_8\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nTwo of Mario&#8217;s very best adventures, Super Mario Galaxy 1 &amp; 2, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/the-super-mario-galaxy-games-are-coming-to-switch-consoles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">being re-released for Switch and Switch 2<\/a> seperately and as a bundle. So if you want to relive the good old days, or experience them for the first time, here&#8217;s your chance. They&#8217;re not cheap at $40 each, but both arrive digitally on 2nd October with a physical release to follow. Also, two Mario Galaxy themed amiibo are due next year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Mario Tennis Fever is coming to Switch 2<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mario Tennis Fever trailer.<a class=\"video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=o3MYOCWj3Fk\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re a fan of the Mario Tennis games, you&#8217;ll be chuffed to hear another is on the way &#8211; this time coming to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/digitalfoundry-2025-nintendo-switch-2-the-digital-foundry-hardware-review\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Switch 2<\/a>. Mario Tennis Fever promises 38 characters &#8211; the most in the series&#8217; history apparently &#8211; plus a range of different activities, online options, and an adventure mode starring the Mario babies. It&#8217;s out 12th February next year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Super Mario Bros. Wonder is getting a Switch 2 upgrade<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Super Mario Bros. Wonder<\/a> is the latest Switch 1 game to get a Switch 2 upgrade. Alongside the excellent base adventure we&#8217;ve seen before, it&#8217;ll include a new mode called Meetup in Bellabell Park. It&#8217;s essentially a world packed with mini-games where players can work with or against their friends. Nintendo is also teasing other new content for a later reveal, and if that appeals, it&#8217;s out &#8220;spring&#8221; next year. This time, the green dinosaur and his pals have been sucked into some kind of magical book where players can experience a &#8220;page-turning adventure&#8221; full of classic side-scrolling platform hijinks. It&#8217;s called Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and it&#8217;s out on Switch 2 next &#8220;spring&#8221;.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Storm Lancers hits Switch <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAnd with the Mario stuff out the way, Nintendo began its Direct proper with a quick look at developer ProbablyMonsters&#8217; Storm Lancers. It&#8217;s a roguelike adventure set in &#8220;80s anime-inspired realms&#8221;, playable either solo or in co-op, that&#8217;s coming to Switch eShop today.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Dinkum <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIf there&#8217;s still room in your universe for yet another life sim, behold Krafton&#8217;s survival-focused adventure Dinkum. It&#8217;s coming to Switch on 6th November, but a demo hits eShop today.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Popucom<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFancy a bit of colourful, multiplayer-only platform adventure? Then you might like Popucom, which sees players tossing colours and shifting scenery to explore its world. Hoorah!&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection coming to Switch 2<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMortal Kombat fans on Switch 2 have a bunch of retro action to look forward to. The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which includes a variety of the series&#8217; classic fighting games, as well as a documentary delve into its history, comes to Nintendo eShop on 30th October. Sound appealing? If so, it launches on Switch and Switch 2 later today.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Hades 2 gets a Switch 2 release date<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Hades 2 trailer.<a class=\"video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pEUfg9y4IQQ\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHades 2, the sequel to Supergiant&#8217;s much-loved original roguelike adventure, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/hades-2-release-date-announced-for-switch-consoles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finally leaving early access and coming to Switch 2 on 25th September<\/a>. That&#8217;s the eShop release, but if you want a physical version, it arrives on 20th November this year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>More amiibo!<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIf you just can&#8217;t get enough of those cheery little plastic figures, you&#8217;ve some Kirby options to look forward to, all arriving alongside (and compatible with) Kirby Air Riders on 20th November. One pack includes Kirby and his star-shaped vehicle, while the other includes Bandana Waddle Dee and his rider. From 17th February next year, Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers on Switch and Switch 2 can get stuck into some Virtual Boy titles, with 14 games confirmed. You&#8217;ll need a dedicated accessory to play them in 3D as originally envisaged (plastic and cardboard versions are coming), and more details will follow.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Fatal Frame 2 is getting a remake <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFatal Frame 2 &#8211; one of the best horror games ever made as far as I&#8217;m concerned &#8211; is being remade for Switch 2. The series&#8217; classic camera-snapping action returns in Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterly Remake, out &#8220;early&#8221; next year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>More Switch 2 upgrades!<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nNext up, we&#8217;ve got a bunch of games being upgraded to support Switch 2. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 will see more enemies on screen when it comes to Nintendo&#8217;s new console this autumn; Overcooked 2 gets CameraPlay this winter; Stardew Valley is getting mouse controls, four-person split-screen, and GameShare support this autumn. Plus, five new levels and mouse support come to Human Fall Flat next year.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>PowerWash Simulator 2<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHose-&#8217;em-up sequel PowerWash Simulator 2 &#8211; which gives players more filthy things to blast to a sheen &#8211; is confirmed to be arriving on Switch 2, complete with split-screen, this autumn.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Suika Game Planet<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFruit-matching puzzler Suika Game Planet is coming to Switch and Switch 2 this winter, and if you have Nintendo&#8217;s newest console, GameShare is supported.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gets release date<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer.<a class=\"video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6tSSTH0Z8_M\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAt long last, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which apparently includes Samus on a motorbike, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/metroid-prime-4-beyond-finally-gets-release-date-plus-samus-on-a-motorbike\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has a release date<\/a>. It launches on 12th December 2025, with three amiibo confirmed. DK&#8217;s homestead looks to feature all sorts of nooks and crannies to explore, but the DLC also brings a new Emerald Rush challenge mode available across all levels. That might be oversimplifying things a bit though. The main Pok\u00e9vent for today&#8217;s Direct, however, was more Pok\u00e9mon Legends Z-A, which saw the announcement of paid DLC despite not even being out yet. It&#8217;s called Mega Dimension, with more details to follow.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Danganrompa 2 is coming to Switch 2<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nClassic murder adventure Danganronpa 2 is coming to Switch 2 and Switch next year, with some added bits. &#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Wallop things in Dynasty Warriors: Origins next year<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMore hack-and-slash action from Koei Tecmo is on the way to Switch 2, this time in the form of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. It&#8217;s out 22nd January next year, with paid DLC arriving at the same time.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection&#13;<br \/>\n dated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nCapcom&#8217;s RPG twist on the monster-battling series returns for a third adventure. The latest instalment in Capcom&#8217;s long-running survival horror series, Resident Evil Requium, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/resident-evil-7-re-engine-resi-switch-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">heading to Switch 2<\/a> on 27th February next year. And that&#8217;s not all!
