{"id":221606,"date":"2025-09-12T19:06:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T19:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/221606\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T19:06:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T19:06:11","slug":"knicks-signing-veteran-guard-malcolm-brogdon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/221606\/","title":{"rendered":"Knicks signing veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Knicks continue reshaping the back half of their roster.<\/p>\n<p>The team and veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon agreed to a one-year deal on Friday morning, The Post confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Brogdon won Sixth Man of the Year in 2022-23, his lone season in Boston; but he\u2019s liable to play a somewhat smaller role in the Garden. <\/p>\n<p>He\u2019ll go into training camp with a non-guaranteed contract, and a chance to be a bargain signing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/11\/sports\/knicks-re-sign-landry-shamet-after-ben-simmons-flirtation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Knicks re-signed Landy Shamet<\/a> on Thursday after talks with Ben Simmons fizzled out.<\/p>\n<p>After the oft-injured Simmons had initial flirtations with the Knicks but decided not to take a minimum offer, they ironically turned to another guard who has had his own problems staying healthy, though not quite as severe.<\/p>\n<p>While Brogdon was key off the bench for the Celtics in the regular-season, he suffered an arm injury that limited him in the postseason. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37092707\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1757703971_944_brogdon.jpg\" alt=\"Malcolm Brogdon #15 of the Washington Wizards handles the ball during the game against the Indiana Pacers on February 12, 2025 at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.\" class=\"wp-image-37092707\"  \/>Malcolm Brogdon is signing with the Knicks. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Still, that won\u2019t matter as much to the Knicks since his burden will be much lighter in New York. <\/p>\n<p>And after fired coach Tom Thibodeu either had no bench or refused to use it, successor Mike Brown has now been furnished with a solid group of backups.<\/p>\n<p>Brogdon, who turns 33 in December, could be part of that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Knicks continue reshaping the back half of their roster.
