Cameras roll next week in Australia for a August 21, 2026 theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe plot, like most Blumhouse horror movies at this stage, is under wraps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, with executive producers Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Jacob-Chase-e1757715473245.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"300\" width=\"220\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tChase<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJosh Cullen Goodell<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis next chapter comes in the wake of the massive success of 2023\u2019s\u00a0Insidious: The Red Door, which became the highest-grossing film in the series, earning nearly $190 million globally. Since the franchise\u2019s debut at the Toronto Film Festival in 2010,\u00a0Insidious\u00a0has become one of the most successful horror series of all time, grossing more than $740 million worldwide. This year\u2019s TIFF marks 15 years since the original film\u2019s premiere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEve\u00a0can be seen in a leading role in Sebastian Gutierrez\u2019s\u00a0Leopard Skin\u00a0opposite Carla Gugino which is now streaming on Peacock. The actress is known for her breakout role in\u00a0The Haunting of Bly Manor\u00a0on Netflix opposite Victoria Pedretti, created by Mike Flanagan. She previously starred in\u00a0The Blind\u00a0for producer Brittany Yost and director Andrew Hyatt which is now streaming on Netflix. Her previous work includes the BBC 3 comedy series\u00a0Enterprice\u00a0and indie feature Big Boys Don\u2019t Cry.\u00a0Eve is represented by 42mp, Anonymous Content and\u00a0Jackoway Austen Tyerman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShaye starred in various Farrelly Brothers comedies including Dumb and Dumber,\u00a0Kingpin and\u00a0There\u2019s Something About Mary and transitioned into horror, appearing in\u00a0A Nightmare on Elm Street,\u00a0Critters,\u00a02001 Maniacs, and the blockbuster\u00a0Insidious\u00a0franchise, where she became the face of the series and a genre icon. She has also starred in such independent films such as\u00a0Room for Rent\u00a0and produced and acted in\u00a0The Call. On TV, she appeared in Showtime\u2019s\u00a0Penny Dreadful: City of Angels\u00a0and won a 2020 Daytime Emmy for\u00a0Eastsiders. Shaye is repped by Buchwald and Rugolo Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tChase\u00a0wrote and directed\u00a0Come Play\u00a0for Amblin and Focus Features, based on his short film\u00a0Larry. He directed and produced\u00a0The Girl in the Woods\u00a0for Peacock. Next up he is slated to direct\u00a0Bad Boy\u00a0for C2. His most recent short film\u00a0Mr. Blur\u00a0won the International Jury Award for Best Director at Fantasia 2023. Case, an alum of the Sundance Labs, is currently in development on his next features at Blumhouse and Atomic Monster and previously sold projects to HBO Max, New Line, Paramount and Sony.
