{"id":222020,"date":"2025-09-12T22:49:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T22:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222020\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T22:49:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T22:49:16","slug":"android-16-qpr1-no-data-wipe-ota-starts-rolling-out-to-pixel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222020\/","title":{"rendered":"Android 16 QPR1 \u2018No Data Wipe\u2019 OTA starts rolling out to Pixel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Android-16-QPR1-logo-10.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Over a week after Android 16 QPR1 went stable, Google is now beginning to roll out the \u201cNo Data Wipe\u201d OTA update to Beta 3.1 testers.<\/p>\n<p>This over-the-air update lets you leave the Android Beta Program without a wipe that removes all your data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Go to the Settings app &gt; System &gt; Software updates &gt; System updates and make sure it says \u201cAndroid Beta Exit <strong>No Data Wipe<\/strong>.\u201d The update size is under 100 MB and brings the September 2025 security patch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After Beta 3.1, those that didn\u2019t want to test QPR2 Beta 1 opted out their device from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/android\/beta#devices\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">google.com\/android\/beta<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-wp-class--hide=\"state.isContentHidden\" data-wp-class--show=\"state.isContentVisible\" data-wp-init=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on-async--click=\"actions.showLightbox\" data-wp-on-async--load=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on-async-window--resize=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\"  alt=\"Android 16 QPR1\" data-height=\"1600\" data-id=\"689041\" data-link=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/?attachment_id=689041\" data-url=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/09\/Android-16-QPR1-No-Data-Wipe-1.jpg?quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" data-width=\"2560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Android-16-QPR1-No-Data-Wipe-1.jpg\" data-amp-layout=\"responsive\"\/><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re seeing the OTA on our Pixel Tablet, but not a Pixel 8a or 9a. There are a <a href=\"https:\/\/old.reddit.com\/r\/android_beta\/comments\/1nfdedz\/no_data_wipe_is_out_guys\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">few other reports<\/a> of the OTA appearing on phones, but it is not yet widely available. It usually launches for all devices at the same time. Google, however, looks to be gating this rollout, which would match how the main 16 to 16 QPR1 update became available.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, we received a \u201ccustom update\u201d confirmation.
