{"id":222047,"date":"2025-09-12T23:05:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T23:05:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222047\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T23:05:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T23:05:16","slug":"everman-highs-two-story-mum-wows-during-homecoming-festivities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222047\/","title":{"rendered":"Everman High&#8217;s two-story mum wows during homecoming festivities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The larger-than-life creation has quickly become the centerpiece of this year\u2019s Homecoming celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>EVERMAN, Texas \u2014 A North Texas high school has taken school spirit to new heights \u2014 literally.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Everman High School debuted a massive two-story homecoming mum, designed and built by one of the school&#8217;s Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and their students.<\/p>\n<p>The larger-than-life creation was led by an electrical teacher in the CTE program and has quickly become the centerpiece of this year\u2019s Homecoming celebrations. The school says it&#8217;s a symbol of pride, craftsmanship, and school spirit throughout the week\u2019s festivities.<\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo__placeholder\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cc298516-333a-4159-b128-d2ffbc94c043_16x9.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo__main\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cc298516-333a-4159-b128-d2ffbc94c043_1140x641.jpg\"  alt=\"\" style=\"opacity:0\" onload=\"this.style.opacity=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>For decades, high school students across the state have exchanged the oversized corsages \u2014 often featuring silk flowers, flowing ribbons, bells, charms and plush mascots \u2014 as a way to celebrate school pride.<\/p>\n<p>The treasured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/texas\/new-homecoming-mum-exhibit-at-arlington-museum-explains-history-of-texas-tradition\/287-3852a983-9694-4199-af5c-3468e3a40823\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" id=\"isPasted\">Texas tradition<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/texas\/homecoming-mums-texas-tradition\/285-bebbd277-a39b-46b0-ace6-f1ab99b1ad3f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>dates back to the 1930s. Through the years, the mums keep <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/entertainment\/arts\/north-texas-high-school-looks-to-break-the-guinness-world-record-for-largest-mum\/287-7860da32-fa91-4aa6-b014-1cbe86853506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">getting bigger<\/a>, flashier and more expensive.
