{"id":222163,"date":"2025-09-13T00:07:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T00:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222163\/"},"modified":"2025-09-13T00:07:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T00:07:11","slug":"seniors-across-america-and-siouxland-worry-about-retirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/222163\/","title":{"rendered":"Seniors across America and Siouxland worry about retirement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.siouxlandproud.com\/tag\/sioux-city\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:SIOUX CITY;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">SIOUX CITY<\/a>, Iowa (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.siouxlandproud.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:KCAU;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">KCAU<\/a>) \u2014 More than half of retired seniors are running out of money and having a hard time financially, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retirementliving.com\/state-of-retirement\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:study from Retirement Living;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">study from Retirement Living<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inflation and heavy reliance on social security are leading to more and more mounting debt for older Americans, many of whom struggle to stay retired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the study, 22% of those over 60 say they had to go back to work, and 18% say they don\u2019t think they will ever be able to fully retire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The research also shows that almost half of people over the age of 60 who aren\u2019t working are considering getting a job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Story continues below<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">KCAU 9 reached out to our local organizations that assist Siouxland seniors, and they agree that the national trend is hitting seniors right here in the tri-state region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe always ask about their resources because then we can refer them on, like if they qualify for Medicaid or if they qualify for different programs, like through Medicaid.
