Everyone\u2019s favorite grocery store may be the best-kept-secret for live music. Kid-friendly and BYOB, Central Market hosts free live music on weekend nights and is ideal for families. With an on-site playground and gelato shop, you\u2019ll be able to keep the kids entertained while you enjoy the music and your favorite beer or wine. Music acts include a steady rotation of Americana and folk with special acts popping up during seasonal events such as the upcoming Passport Germany. Downstairs seating fills up fast, but remember there is an upstairs patio with extra seating and shade.

Outdoor restaurant and music venue is a great destination for tailgating on game day or to take out-of-town visitors. Maggie\u2019s provides free live music for patrons and Magnolia Avenue pedestrians Thursday through Sunday, with an extra session on Saturday afternoons. The music stage is a permanent fixture and focal point in the outdoor seating section \u2014 which is to say, most of Maggie\u2019s has a pretty great view of the stage. Acts consist largely of one-man-shows, affording an opportunity to sing along to covers of your favorite classics. A staple for live music and your best bet for a Billy Bob Thornton cameo, Magnolia Motor Lounge hosts live music Tuesdays-Saturdays featuring local or small regional bands, ranging from alternative to Americana, blues, folk, and country. Some events are ticketed, but the music is free Tuesday-Thursday, including a Songwriter Night on Tuesdays \u2014 providing a chance to catch some up-and-coming local talent. Music is definitely the focus here; if you want to catch up with friends without shouting, head outside to one of the tables on the patio.

It\u2019s not a true Fort Worth roundup if you don\u2019t include a honkytonk, right? Located in the Historic Stockyards, Pearl’s boasts live music every Thursday-Sunday, with no cover on Thursday or Sunday nights unless there is a special event. (Locals know you can also get in for free on Friday and Saturday as long as you arrive before 8 pm.) The bands are there to get you out on the dance floor, so come prepared with your best western wear and dance moves \u2013 you won\u2019t be sitting down. On Thursdays and Sundays, they also offer line dancing lessons with a band.

This brewery with food stalls and all-day rotation of free live music in the Historic Stockyards caters to big crowds of all ages, with casual seating and yard games. Live music starts at 12 pm every day, featuring three rotating acts and performances all day long. The music serves more as a backdrop than the main act \u2014 which allows you to focus on snacks, games, and libations while hanging out with friends, family, or even your pooch at this kid and dog-friendly spot.

Free live music is one facet of a serious commitment to entertainment at Sundance Square Plaza that also includes salsa nights, cumbia, and dance lessons. They even have a dedicated Instagram<\/a>, which they update religiously with scheduled acts \u2014 an eclectic rotation of artists from mariachi to country, Latin, and jazz. Surrounded by high-rise buildings with a backdrop of the Chisholm Trail mural, the plaza has almost an amphitheater vibe. The events are popular, so it’s wise to get there early to grab a chair or bring your own seat. You can also bring your own snacks or beverages.
