The 12th season of New York Theatre Barn’s Choreography Lab will feature Jay Alan Zimmerman’s theatrical song cycle\u00a0Songs for Hands on a Thursday, spotlighting choreographers Chloe O. Davis (Hell’s Kitchen,\u00a0Gypsy), yannick-robin eike (Mr. Holland’s Opus), and Samuel Langshteyn (Deaf Broadway’s\u00a0Rent).<\/p>\n

This year’s lab, moderated by Jeff Calhoun<\/a> (Newsies), is supporting a large group of artists across discplines, and includes those\u00a0who are Deaf, hearing, and disabled.\u00a0The song cycle has been adapted from Sarah Ruhl<\/a>‘s 44 Poems for You, and features concepts and music by Jay Alan Zimmerman and words from Ruhl’s work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Evan T. Cummings is directing the September 18\u00a0event, and Garrett Zuercher is director of artistic sign language. Projection design will be by Katy S. Tucker, with Amanda D’Archangelis<\/a> as sound engineer and Emily Garcia as assistant director. The lab is curated by Avital Asuleen and executive-produced by Kate Trammell.<\/p>\n

Performers will include\u00a0Chris Corrigan, Treshelle Edmond<\/a>, Kellie-Jean Hoagland, Kat Katona, Samuel Langshteyn, yannick-robin eike, Malik Paris, Christopher Tester, Alexandria Wailes<\/a>, and Yepez.<\/p>\n
