Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.<\/p>\n

As the Lakers approach their 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.<\/p>\n

Jim Brewer was a veteran big man who came to the Lakers in a trade during the summer of 1980 with the Portland Trail Blazers<\/a>. At 6-foot-9 and 210 pounds, he mainly played the power forward position, and he had been named to the All-Defensive second team for the 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

In two seasons with the Lakers, Brewer averaged 2.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.7 blocks in 13.9 minutes a game. He won an NBA championship with the Lakers in 1982, his second season with the club.<\/p>\n

Afterward, Brewer spent three seasons with Pallacanestro Cant\u00f9, a pro basketball team located in Italy.<\/p>\n
