{"id":223556,"date":"2025-09-13T12:36:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T12:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/223556\/"},"modified":"2025-09-13T12:36:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T12:36:12","slug":"rock-singer-who-punched-bandmate-onstage-denies-all-allegations-in-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/223556\/","title":{"rendered":"Rock singer who punched bandmate onstage denies all allegations in lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"O4HFN5SLMNF5DH4FLHNDGJIXGA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/alt-rock-band-cancels-rest-of-reunion-tour-after-frontman-attacks-guitarist-our-hearts-are-broken.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Perry Farrell<\/a> has filed a legal response after his Jane\u2019s Addiction bandmates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"74HMTM6KANBN5HHPLZKVMX534Y\">Guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/2025\/05\/legendary-guitarist-says-no-chance-for-band-reunion-after-singer-tried-to-fight-him-on-stage.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dave Navarro<\/a>, along with bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins, filed suit against the singer in July. Farrell promptly countersued, citing assault and battery, bullying, and harassment. The trio accused the singer of assault, battery, and breach of contract over the September 2024 show that ended abruptly after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/janes-addiction-apologizes-to-fans-for-bands-onstage-fight-cancels-show-on-reunion-tour.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Farrell threw a punch at Navarro onstage<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"652UCSNNOJHCFEB3Z6KANZVKRA\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/perry-farrell-files-answer-to-dave-navarro-assault-battery-lawsuit-11807584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">People<\/a>, which accessed the document filed on Monday, Farrell \u201cdenies each and every allegation\u201d in the complaint, and affirms that Navarro has not \u201cbeen damaged in any way or in any amount whatsoever.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XHMJAWVVTBFY3MPGNISTWGIVIM\">The singer goes on to state that Navarro \u201cfails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against\u201d him, has \u201cfailed to exercise reasonable care and diligence to mitigate (the) alleged claims and damages,\u201d and has \u201cunclean hands.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WEZZH3VROVEDPDGQLOX6F7SCQI\">Altogether, Farrell\u2019s legal response lists 35 defenses in total. In the suit filed in July, Navarro, Avery, and Perkins are seeking $10 million in damages from Farrell for assault and battery, emotional distress, negligence, and breach of contract, among other allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"T462N6VH4VGLVKA4A4WO2JZALA\">Navarro\u2019s lawyer, Christopher Frost, responded to People in reference to Farrell\u2019s filing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QPUJI73N5NHY5LVOK3VCCZIVGI\">\u201cOur lawsuit speaks for itself. So does the video.
