{"id":223897,"date":"2025-09-13T15:37:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T15:37:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/223897\/"},"modified":"2025-09-13T15:37:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T15:37:11","slug":"womens-soccer-continues-road-trip-against-jacksonville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/223897\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Soccer Continues Road Trip Against Jacksonville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ginevra Gil | contributing writer<\/p>\n<p>The Panthers will continue to be on the road as they go up against the Jacksonville University Dolphins, Saturday at 7 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This match marks the last game before FIU competes against conference opponents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FIU travels to Jacksonville for the third match of a six game road trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two teams have met 10 times prior with The Panthers having a 6-4 record over the Dolphins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their most recent match ended in a 3-0 victory for the Panthers in Aug. 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jacksonville have a 2-3 record and are undefeated at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the previous game, The Panthers lost to the University of Miami 2-0.<\/p>\n<p>In the first half both teams remained steadfast. Contributions from graduate <a href=\"https:\/\/fiusports.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/zora-jackson\/13229\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zora Jackson<\/a> in the 35th minute with a shot on goal and a shot to the top left corner that was blocked by junior goalkeeper <a href=\"https:\/\/fiusports.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/valery-restrepo\/13233\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Valery Restrepo<\/a> in the 40th, kept The Panthers level leading into the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the second half, UM had seemed to figure it out and scored in the 53rd minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FIU\u2019s possession in the final third compared to the first half\u00a0 dropped by half, leading to many careless and unnecessary fouls. The Panthers had 4 yellow cards in the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the final instances of the game, UM gained insurance with their second goal in the 84th minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At fulltime, Miami had 16 shots (7 on goal), 2 saves, 5 cornerkicks.
