The Panthers will continue to be on the road as they go up against the Jacksonville University Dolphins, Saturday at 7 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This match marks the last game before FIU competes against conference opponents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FIU travels to Jacksonville for the third match of a six game road trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two teams have met 10 times prior with The Panthers having a 6-4 record over the Dolphins.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Their most recent match ended in a 3-0 victory for the Panthers in Aug. 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jacksonville have a 2-3 record and are undefeated at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the previous game, The Panthers lost to the University of Miami 2-0.<\/p>\n

In the first half both teams remained steadfast. Contributions from graduate Zora Jackson<\/a> in the 35th minute with a shot on goal and a shot to the top left corner that was blocked by junior goalkeeper Valery Restrepo<\/a> in the 40th, kept The Panthers level leading into the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the second half, UM had seemed to figure it out and scored in the 53rd minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FIU\u2019s possession in the final third compared to the first half\u00a0 dropped by half, leading to many careless and unnecessary fouls. The Panthers had 4 yellow cards in the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the final instances of the game, UM gained insurance with their second goal in the 84th minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At fulltime, Miami had 16 shots (7 on goal), 2 saves, 5 cornerkicks. Meanwhile FIU had 5 shots (2 on goal), 5 saves, and 3 corners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the tally sheet, junior Montelene Dymond<\/a> currently stands with 5 goals, senior Chinatsu Kaio<\/a> with 2, and sophomore Delfina Lombardi<\/a> with 1 goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile redshirt senior Grace Morris<\/a> stands with 2 assists and Valery Restrepo and Noa Olivia Ganthier<\/a>\u00a0 are tied at with 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

First-year head coach Mat Dunn looks to set the same momentum that is familiar to the CUSA tournament winners, before facing conference opponents Delaware, on Sept. 21st.<\/p>\n
