UNION SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) — There’s a not-so-secret society that’s made quite a name for itself over the years… Ryan Meetup.<\/p>\n

Saturday marks “Rytoberfest” in Union Square.<\/p>\n

The idea is a simple one. People from across the country will come together at a bar, where everybody knows their name… “Ryan.”<\/p>\n

It all started with a flier put up in Brooklyn, and 2 1\/2 years later, an online community has grown to thousands of Ryans connecting and meeting up for fun events.<\/p>\n

Some of the newest members can’t believe how much it’s changed their life.<\/p>\n

Plenty of Ryans have already RSVPed for Saturday’s meetup<\/a> in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

They’re hoping to break a world record for the largest same name gathering in history.<\/p>\n

There is one restriction though… the community feels strongly about: no “Bryans” allowed.<\/p>\n
