In the days after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>, memorials and prayer vigils have been popping up across the country.<\/p>\n

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities on Friday announced the arrest of Tyler Robinson, 22, in the killing,<\/a> and said Robinson allegedly disliked Kirk and his views. Messages from Robinson to his roommates also implicated him in the shooting, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Students at universities with Turning Point USA chapters, the conservative advocacy organization Kirk co-founded in 2012, have held gatherings at Texas schools, including Baylor University, Texas A&M and the University of Texas. <\/p>\n

Texas Christian University<\/p>\n

Students from TCU\u2019s TPUSA chapter announced on social media it will be holding a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. Friday<\/a> at the Campus Commons, near Chick-fil-A. The event is open to TCU students only, a post on Instagram said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Denton<\/p>\n

The Denton County Republican Party is organizing a flag wave vigil and prayer gathering for 6 p.m. Sunday at the Denton County Commissioners Court building, according to its Facebook page<\/a>. The courthouse is located at 1 Courthouse Drive in Denton.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be a time to remember Charlie, lift his family in prayer, and stand strong together as a community in reflection, encouragement, and unity. Please bring your flags, family, and friends as we honor his memory,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n

Fort Worth<\/p>\n

A prayer vigil is being organized for 7 p.m. Sunday at Fort Worth\u2019s Trinity Park Pavilion, according to a Facebook event listing<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cOn Sunday evening, we will hold candles & honor a man who lived with purpose and loved with conviction. Though his life was cut short, his light endures in the lives he touched. Let us carry forward his commitment to truth, family, and faith, ensuring his legacy lives on in our actions and our hearts,\u201d the posting read.<\/p>\n

According to the posting, over 1,500 people have expressed interest in the event.<\/p>\n
