{"id":224065,"date":"2025-09-13T17:10:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T17:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/224065\/"},"modified":"2025-09-13T17:10:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T17:10:10","slug":"celebrate-hispanic-heritage-month-across-socal-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/224065\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month across SoCal \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What to Know<\/p>\n<ul class=\"what-to-know__list\">\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Hispanic Heritage Month begins Sept. 15<\/li>\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Several celebratory happenings, including the Hola Mexico Film Festival, take place during the month<\/li>\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Several events are free, including Fiestas Patrias in Santa Ana on Sept. 13 and 14, but do check if advance tickets are required<\/li>\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">The commemorative month will mark its 60th anniversary in 2028<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parades, film screenings, and all sorts of flavorful festivities fill Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins Sept. 15.<\/p>\n<p>As is tradition with this joyful observance, events often start before the month has officially launched.<\/p>\n<p>That is the ebullient case in 2025, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/the-scene\/hola-mexico-film-festival-returns-celebratory-17th-year\/3776712\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hola Mexico Film Festival<\/a> opening Sept. 12 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santa-ana.org\/fiestas-patrias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiestas Patrias<\/a> in Santa Ana dancing through the heart of the city Sept. 13 and 14.<\/p>\n<p>The Hola Mexico Film Festival will continue through Sept. 20, with screenings at select theaters, including Regal Cinemas at L.A. Live.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles City Hall is the place for the beloved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/community\/nbc4-and-telemundo-52-celebrate-the-city-of-los-angeles-el-grito-with-participation-of-belen-de-leon-and-guillermo-quiroz\/3774584\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;El Grito&#8221;<\/a> celebration Sept. 13. Make for the historic steps in the evening for stirring speeches, Lucha Libre, and food trucks.<\/p>\n<p>The theme, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/community\/nbc4-and-telemundo-52-celebrate-the-city-of-los-angeles-el-grito-with-participation-of-belen-de-leon-and-guillermo-quiroz\/3774584\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;\u00a1Viva La Resistencia!,&#8221;<\/a> will pay homage to &#8220;&#8230; the legacy of resistance shared by Latinos, Indigenous, and immigrant communities who live in Los Angeles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The co-emcees of the celebration include Belen De Leon, Meteorologist for NBC4&#8217;s Today in LA, and Guillermo Quiroz, Noticiero Telemundo 52&#8217;s Weather and Traffic Anchor. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastla-parade.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">East Los Angeles Mexican Independence Day Parade and Festival<\/a> honors its 79th outing Sept. 14; the parking is located at the East Los Angeles Civic Center at 4801 E. 3rd Street but do go with public transportation if possible. Details are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastla-parade.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this site.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Plaza West Covina&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/para-la-cultura-celebrating-hispanic-heritage-month-tickets-1591935645369?aff=oddtdtcreator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Para La Cultura<\/a>, which will feature folklorico performances and the La Jefa Market, will revel at the destination on the evening of Sept. 19.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/elcapitantheatre.com\/showings\/coco-fan-event\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Coco&#8221; Fan Event<\/a> at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is always an adorable tradition, and the 2025 happening will flower, like a beautiful marigold, Sept. 26. <\/p>\n<p>Dance, mariachi music, and the Fiesta of Lights are part of the merriment (but do purchase your ticket in advance).<\/p>\n<p>Also on the fabulous film front? The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana will host the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefridacinema.org\/ocliff-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orange County Latino International Film Festival<\/a> from Sept. 19-21. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;La Sombra del Sol&#8221; is the opening night feature and, like the &#8220;Coco&#8221; celebration, you&#8217;ll want to book your admission ahead of time.<\/p>\n<p>And LA County Parks will offer a cavalcade of cool events during the month &#8220;across 59 parks,&#8221; with kid-focused activities, cooking demonstrations, musical moments, and more on the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/parks.lacounty.gov\/HHM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hispanic Heritage Month<\/a> is a time to celebrate the richness and diversity of our Latino communities and to stand together in solidarity,&#8221; said Norma E.
