Entering the 2024-25 NBA season, the Houston Rockets<\/a> hadn\u2019t had a winning season or an appearance in the Western Conference playoffs since 2019-20.<\/p>\n

Now, heading into 2025-26, the Rockets are coming off a playoff berth and a No. 2 placement in the West standings (52-30). They also added All-Star forward Kevin Durant, a future Hall of Famer, in the 2025 offseason.<\/p>\n

To no surprise, that\u2019s good for the bottom line.<\/p>\n

Speaking Thursday at the team\u2019s annual September 11 event<\/a> honoring veterans and first reponders, Gretchen Sheirr \u2014 president of business operations for the Rockets \u2014 said of the business effect:<\/p>\n

We\u2019re pretty excited about the season. I never want to talk about huge numbers, but our season-ticket base is up 25 percent. We\u2019ve had more corporate sponsors that have joined in the past two years than we had previously, and we\u2019re expecting huge, big gains.<\/p>\n

Being back on national TV and opening the NBA season, it\u2019s just a testament to how much work we\u2019ve put in as an organization, and we\u2019re excited to share it with the fans in a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In total, the Rockets will be on national television 28 times<\/a> \u2014 fifth-most of any of the NBA\u2019s 30 teams. That includes the opening game of the 2025-26 regular season at Oklahoma City, a game that will serve as championship ring night for the Thunder and the return of the NBA on NBC television package after a 23-year hiatus.<\/p>\n

This time a year ago, Houston had only three games<\/a> scheduled for national television (excluding NBA TV).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a year of rapid growth for the organization, and ticket sales at Toyota Center are simply the latest barometer to show the upward trajectory.<\/p>\n
