When Carlos Alcaraz overcame defending US Open champion Jannik Sinner in the final at Flushing Meadows, he claimed his 10th victory in their head-to-head. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In an enthralling performance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Alcaraz defeated Sinner<\/a> in four sets on the Italian\u2019s preferred surface, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to hoist a sixth Grand Slam title. <\/p>\n

The Spaniard, now tied with Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg for Open Era major crowns, has beaten the 24-year-old in six of their last seven clashes, with his sole defeat coming in the Wimbledon final.<\/p>\n

With some fans worrying about the already iconic rivalry becoming one-sided, Serena Williams<\/a>\u2018 former coach, Rick Macci, has no doubts about Sinner<\/a>\u2018s ability to battle past the new world number one. <\/p>\n

Before his triumph at Wimbledon, Sinner\u2019s last victory against Alcaraz<\/a> came at the China Open in 2023. <\/p>\n

Each of their last five meetings have come in tour-level finals, four of which the ATP<\/a> number two has walked away empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s 2025 victories against Jannik Sinner<\/p>\n

Their first match in 2025 came in the final of the Italian Open, which marked Sinner\u2019s first tournament back in action after his three-month ban from tennis. <\/p>\n

Alcaraz emerged victorious in Rome and followed it up with a comeback win in the championship match at Roland Garros, after surviving three match points.<\/p>\n

Sinner finally snapped his near two-year-long losing streak against the 22-year-old at Wimbledon to claim a maiden title at the All England Club. <\/p>\n

After their Cincinnati final clash ended in a walkover, Alcaraz won their fifth bout of the season in New York following a dominant US Open campaign.<\/p>\n
