After several days of perfectly average summer weather, a bit more excitement may be in store.<\/p>\n
Wednesday afternoon\u2019s scattered showers provided a welcome relief from a seasonably hot and dry pattern the metro area had been stuck in. A quarter of an inch of water came down at DFW International Airport, according to the National Weather Service\u2019s Fort Worth office, but precipitation totals varied across the metro area.<\/p>\n
Thursday is forecast to bring partly sunny conditions with a high in the low 90s \u2014 similar to earlier this week \u2014 but a minimal chance of thunderstorms is expected to return this afternoon. Wind gusts are expected to peak at 20 miles per hour.<\/p>\n
Friday and Saturday are projected to slowly transition into higher temperatures, with highs in the mid-90s and the heat index around 100. Early next week should see highs of 99 and a heat index of 104, as well as a possible return of scattered showers.<\/p>\n
