\n\tFollowing the news that Ego Nwodim<\/a> was leaving Saturday Night Live<\/a>, the reactions started to pour in.<\/p>\n

\n\tNwodim, who joined SNL<\/a> in 2018, announced on social media on Friday that she was exiting the sketch comedy series after seven seasons.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight. But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave\u00a0SNL,\u201d she captioned an Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cI am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support and friendship. Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always. Now invite me to your weddings please!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSoon after the news broke, messages came through the comments from several former and current SNL stars as well as other celebrities.<\/p>\n

\n\tCecily Strong, who left the show in 2022 after 11 seasons, commented: \u201cJust texted you but I also want to say it loud and proud here: it was an honor and total joy to get to work with you. One of the best to ever do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChloe Fineman, who is coming back for season 51, wrote, \u201cOne of the best to ever do it my friend. GOAT.\u201d Also returning is Bowen Yang, who took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of Nwodim, writing: \u201cthe best.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOther notable stars who shared reactions included Jack Black, who commented on Nwodim\u2019s post, \u201cMic drop,\u201d Together star Alison Brie wrote, \u201cCongrats on an incredible run!!,\u201d while Amber Ruffin wrote, \u201cCongratulations! As long as I can still watch you perform, I\u2019m good!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe announcement came after NBC seemingly confirmed who <\/a>was<\/a> returning<\/a> for season 51, and Nwodim was included. In addition to Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim, Devon Walker and John Higgins are not returning for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

\n\tLongfellow shared a picture of himself and Nwodim on his Instagram Story, and Walker posted a video of Nwodim and him from the Kinds of Kindness red carpet premiere in New York last summer.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason 51 will debut Oct. 4.<\/p>\n
