The 67-year-old served as both co-creator and showrunner. <\/p>\n<p>Executive producers Robert Sternin, Diane Wilk and Prudence Fraser were also at the gathering.<\/p>\n<p>Shaughnessy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOg-fAoknDx\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also posted the pic<\/a>\u00a0to his Instagram account, gushing, \u201cGetting the band back together\u2026.?! Watch Max and Fran become grandparents too. Love The Nanny. So much nostalgia in this one picture! \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f Max and Fran forever! Charlie, you look fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The iconic series ran from 1993 to 1999 and followed Fran Fine (Drescher), a fashionable cosmetics saleswoman who becomes the caretaker for a widowed Broadway producer\u2019s (Shaughnessy) three kids: Maggie, Brighton and Grace (Nicholle Tom, Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima).<\/p>\n<p>Drescher went on to executive produce the second half of the series.<\/p>\n<p>Fran Drescher and Charles Shaughnessy poses for a photo. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, ahead of the show\u2019s 30th anniversary, the actress teased the possibility of a revival.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_18-0\">\u201cWe were in conversations with Sony, our parent company, to figure out what we could do that would be fun and exciting for the fans to tune into,\u201d Drescher revealed. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_20-0\">\u201cWe don\u2019t really know, but we have a lot of options on the table, and we\u2019re kind of open to all of them,\u201d she explained, \u201cand everything else, you know, will kind of take a back burner to this right now because there\u2019s only one 30th anniversary. And the show, you know, is the gift that keeps on giving and has tremendous longevity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cast of \u201cThe Nanny.\u201d \u00a9CBS\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p> Renee Taylor landed the role as Fran Fine\u2019s mother, Sylvia, on the sitcom.<\/p>\n<p>The part scored the actress, 92, an Emmy-nomination in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey didn\u2019t want me on the show,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/02\/entertainment\/renee-taylor-as-the-nanny-turns-30-it-was-a-real-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taylor dished to The Post<\/a> while celebrating the show\u2019s 30th anniversary. \u201cThey wanted someone who was Episcopalian; they wanted Sheila MacRae to be the Jewish mother. The pair often worked together over the years, and garnered a 1970 Best Screenplay Oscar nomination for \u201cLovers and Other Strangers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFran had seen my [1971] movie, \u2018Made for Each Other,\u2019 with me and Joe,\u201d she continued. \u201cShe and Peter were fans from when they were in high school and they used to call themselves \u2018Renee and Joe.\u2019 Fran said to me, \u2018Renee, someday you\u2019re going to play my mother.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nanny\u201d characters Sylvia and Mort Fine were based on Drescher\u2019s real-life parents.
