BRISTOL, Tenn. \u2014 Denny Hamlin is set to lose two crew members for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs\u2019 Round of 12 after a detached wheel incident at Bristol.<\/p>\n

Hamlin pitted on lap 367 and restarted with fresh tires on lap 373. Then, 12 laps later, the right-front tire \u2014 with the wheel \u2014 came off in turn one. Hamlin\u2019s car went straight, collecting AJ Allmendinger and William Byron with him.<\/p>\n

NASCAR held Hamlin for two laps, believing the lug nut wasn\u2019t tightened properly during the stop.<\/p>\n

Hamlin\u2019s wreck was the second-to-last caution in the race. He finished 31st, five laps down.<\/p>\n

Hamlin will start the Round of 12 in the lead with 3,034 points. He is 26 points above the cutline and 21 above the highest the cutline can go in the round.<\/p>\n

In the Round of 12 are New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway where Hamlin has had success. Then, the round ends with the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval \u2014 a tough track for Hamlin.<\/p>\n
