Google<\/p>\n<p>But in New Jersey, the <a href=\"https:\/\/nj.gov\/state\/dos-flag-status.shtml?fbclid=IwY2xjawMytjpleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETF5cWFCYTZsRGJTWkVzZHBQAR4nRo8Vs-YaXv9mD3z0QpON2YBtMPZ5NWnOV6evNsmlBrNepr0bYvckgU49OA_aem_Nx61qdnN1vWuaaWVVaUVbg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official state flag status<\/a> listed \u201cfull staff,\u201d and Bergen County followed suit. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/bergen\/2025\/09\/bergen-county-didnt-lower-its-flags-for-charlie-kirk-heres-why.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> also kept their flag status high, while Pennsylvania and Delaware complied with Trump\u2019s directive.<\/p>\n<p>Several other counties and municipalities in New Jersey did the same. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The move infuriated conservatives who said the county was defying Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bergen County Democrats refuse to lower the flags to half-staff for the assassination of Charlie Kirk and have ignored federal orders to do so!\u201d Republican commissioner candidate Jay Costa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DOhPqX6Dm9_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blasted on Instagram.<\/a> \u201cTruly despicable! His death has sparked a wave of tributes, and political fights, across the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Police have identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/12\/us-news\/who-is-tyler-robinson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspected shooter<\/a>.
