Charlie Kirk\u2019s accused assassin Tyler Robinson<\/a> once bragged about his long-range shooting skills, a former coworker<\/a> said Saturday during an exclusive interview with The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Robinson, 22, barely uttered a word while working as a first-year electrician on a new apartment complex in St. George, Utah in 2023 \u2014 except for when the topic of guns came up, according to a 25-year-old electrician who worked alongside him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRight after Black Friday, I had just got done working and I was showing my supervisor the new pistol I bought,\u201d said the co-worker, who asked to remain anonymous.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were out by the trucks, and then Tyler and another guy came over and we were all talking about what kinds of guns we were gonna get or had bought, and they started talking about their longest shots. Tyler said he made a 450 yard shot,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was like the only time we got [Robinson] to conversate with us, when we were talking about guns that day. He got excited about it \u2014 at least, as excited as he can get. He never really showed much emotion. He was just kind of, I don\u2019t know, blank? He was just really quiet,\u201d the man said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Robinson was arrested for firing the single, fatal shot at Kirk from the top of the Losee Center Building, roughly 200 yards away, at Utah Valley University. <\/p>\n

Robinson was working for the Washington County-based company High Output Electric at the time, he said. Both were contracted to wire the new apartments over an eight-month period by a third party called Wilde Electric, according to the man, who provided confirmation of his employment on the project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s owner, Terry Wilde, could not be reached for comment. Shane Bennett, the owner of High Output Electric, said Robinson worked for the company up until late 2023, but couldn\u2019t recall whether \u201che quit or was let go.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Robinson\u2019s boast re-entered the co-worker\u2019s mind after news broke that the trade-school student had been arrested for allegedly firing the single, fatal shot at Kirk, 31<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fatal blast came from the top of the Losee Center Building at Utah Valley University, some 200 yards from where the Turning Point USA founder<\/a> was seated in a pop-up tent, speaking in front of 3,000 people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked when I heard the news yesterday \u2014 I was like, \u2018It can\u2019t be that Tyler\u2019 \u2014 so I called my old coworker at Wilde Electric and I was like, \u2018Hey, did Tyler show up to work today?\u2019 He was like, no, he was supposed to but maybe he\u2019s at a different site.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was the last person I thought would do this. When I heard that the suspect was a young guy from St. George, there were hundreds of other people that I thought would be capable of it before him,\u201d the electrician said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called the murder a targeted \u201cpolitical assassination,\u201d and said Robinson \u201cwas a person who was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology\u201d \u2014 but his former coworker said the suspect ran from conversations about politics<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember one time we were talking about [politics] in one of the units, and instead of sitting in the room with us, Tyler went into the back laundry room and sat on a bucket and I think put an earbud in,\u201d recalled the man, noting most workers on the job site had \u201cconservative views.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

But there was one connection between the assassin and the Robinson he once knew, the electrician said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTyler walked around with clenched fists all the time \u2013 like, super hard clenched fists. I remember making a joke to him one time when he had his fists like that, I was like, \u2018Are you angry, Tyler?\u2019 And he was like\u2026\u2019That\u2019s just what I do.\u2019 He was always soft-spoken but his fists were always like that,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
