\n\tCharlie Kirk<\/a> was not a fan of Coldplay<\/a> \u2014 once saying he found its music \u201cvery hard to listen to\u201d \u2014 but nevertheless, the band\u2019s frontman, Chris Martin<\/a>, has encouraged fans to spread love throughout the world including to Kirk\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\n\tMartin, during Coldplay\u2019s concert at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium on Friday evening, appealed to the crowd to \u201csend love anywhere you want to send it in the world,\u201d including to \u201cto Charlie Kirk\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKirk, the pro-Trump founder of student-oriented conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday at a debate at Utah Valley University<\/a>. He was 31. Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two young children. On Friday, authorities announced they had arrested the suspected shooter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor the final time for a few years in London, let\u2019s raise our hands like this\u201d \u2014 Martin said on stage, raising his arms over his head \u2014 \u201cand send love anywhere you want to send it in the world. There are so many places that might need it today,\u201d according to video taken at the Wembley concert (see below). The Sept. 12 show was the last stop on Coldplay\u2019s Music of the Spheres World Tour.<\/p>\n

\n\tMartin continued, \u201cSo here it comes from London. You can send this to your brother or your sister. You can send it to the families of people who\u2019ve been going through terrible stuff. You can send it to Charlie Kirk\u2019s family. You can send it to anybody\u2019s family. You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway.\u201d He added: \u201cYou can send it to peaceful people in the Middle East, Ukraine and Russia, Azerbaijan and Sudan and Somalia, anywhere that you think might need love from London.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn July 2025, Kirk had said on his show<\/a>, \u201cI would rather be caught dead than be at a Coldplay concert. I would rather go to a WNBA game than go to a Coldplay concert. Couldn\u2019t think of something more boring and banal and a waste of time. But it\u2019s fine, it\u2019s a free society, you can do whatever you want.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI find Coldplay music very hard to listen to,\u201d Kirk said in the segment.<\/p>\n

\n\tKirk made the remarks as part of commenting on the viral video of the tech CEO and his head of HR caught on the \u201ckiss-cam\u201d at Coldplay\u2019s July 16 concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The segment of \u201cThe Charlie Kirk Show\u201d was titled \u201cThe One Word That Perfectly Explains Viral Coldplay CEO Cheater.\u201d According to Kirk, the one word is \u201cshame.\u201d<\/p>\n
