The future team of Detroit Red Wings prospect Anton Johansson<\/a> isn\u2019t getting much love from the pundits. Then again, neither is Johansson\u2019s current team.<\/p>\n

The Red Wings aren\u2019t given much chance of making the NHL playoffs in 2025-26. Meanwhile, in Sweden, the experts are projecting a last-place finish for Johansson\u2019s Leksand club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see if they change their minds after a few rounds because I definitely don\u2019t think we are (a basement-dwelling team),\u201d Johansson told Swedish website Aftonbladet<\/a> following Leksand\u2019s 3-2 win over Timra as the SHL season got underway Saturday.<\/p>\n

It was Johansson\u2019s goal that proved to be the game-winner for Leksand.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always fun to score goals,\u201d Johansson said. \u201cThen it\u2019s mostly about the team winning.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fun to be able to help the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johansson also raised the ire of the Timra bench when he creased former NHL forward Anton Lander with a high stick. The infraction resulted in a two-minute sitdown in the sin bin for the player Detroit chose 105th overall in the 2022 NHL entry draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just take it as lighter fluid that people don\u2019t believe in us,\u201d Johansson said. \u201cYou read and hear. We are human. But it doesn\u2019t upset us, quite the opposite.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s us against the world, and I think we\u2019re showing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Red Wings forward Mattias Ritola is an assistant coach for Leksand.<\/p>\n

Red Wings Pick Is Timra\u2019s Best Player<\/p>\n

Right-winger Eddie Genborg<\/a>, made the 44th overall selection of the 2025 NHL entry draft by the Red Wings, was making his debut for Timra. He drew an assist on their first goal and high praise from his coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is our best player,\u201d Timra coach Tommy Samuelsson told Swedish website Expressen<\/a> of Genborg. \u201cI think his maturity in the game is impressive.<\/p>\n

Samuelsson also appreciates Genborg\u2019s willingness to do the dirty work at the net front, in the corners, and along the boards.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that he is where it is difficult, but he has a good positional game and is responsive to taking in information,\u201d Samuelsson said. \u201cHe is doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong Start For Snively<\/p>\n

Center Joe Snively, who spent last season as a Detroit farmhand with the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins, drew a pair of assists as Djurgarden defeated Skelleftea 5-4.<\/p>\n

Former Red Wings goalie Magnus Hellberg<\/a>, who was also making his Djurgarden debut, got the win.<\/p>\n
