The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> held a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk ahead of Sunday\u2019s game against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.<\/a><\/p>\n

The moment of silence took place before the Star Spangled Banner was played in Arlington. A photo of Kirk was displayed on the AT&T Stadium videoboard at that moment.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys weren\u2019t the only NFL team to observe a moment of silence this week. Green Bay held a similar moment of reflection<\/a> before its Thursday meeting with the Washington Commanders.<\/p>\n

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University<\/a> in Orem, Utah. After Kirk\u2019s assassination, memorials and prayer vigils<\/a> have been held across the country.<\/p>\n

On Friday, authorities announced the arrest of Tyler Robinson in the killing. Robinson, 22, was arrested on aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily harm and obstruction of justice.<\/p>\n

According to CBS Sports<\/a>, the NFL let its clubs decide whether they would observe a moment of silence for Kirk.<\/p>\n

Kirk, CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was a top podcaster, culture warrior<\/a> and ally of President Donald Trump. <\/p>\n

He led an effort to remake the GOP\u2019s get-out-the-vote effort in the 2024 election based on the theory there were thousands of Trump supporters who rarely vote but could be persuaded to vote.<\/p>\n
