BOZEMAN, Mont. \u2014 Montana State is now in the win column after a 41-7 throttling of San Diego.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Bobcats set the tone in their first offensive possession, which was a seven play, 74 yard drive that was capped off by a 45-yard touchdown pass to Taco Dowler from Justin Lamson.\u00a0 Lamson completed all six of his passes on the opening drive and finished the game 23\/26 for 293 yards with three touchdowns.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“You know, each of these experiences for him, are really accumulating now,” said head coach Brent Vigen. “He hasn’t been a regular quarterback until now. He’s played quarterback, but now he’s a regular quarterback. It’s his job. The ebbs and flows will be part of it and we’re obviously behind him and, you know, I think he took a good step today.”<\/p>\n
Wide receiver Taco Dowler was instrumental in Lamson’s success, catching two touchdowns and hauling in all eight of his targets for 116 yards, which set a new career high.<\/p>\n
“When you get targeted. As much as I got targeted today, you should have big numbers,” said Dowler following the win. “I trust my quarterback, he’s a really good quarterback. He trusts me, I trust everyone.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Taco’s twin brother, Caden, also achieved a milestone when he recorded his first career sack in the first quarter.<\/p>\n
“Yeah, it’s pretty cool. you know, coach dialed it up. No one touched me, so it’s pretty easy. You just had to tackle the guy, get him on the ground,” said Caden.\u00a0 “Pretty proud of that. Proud of our defense and the way we flew around, read our keys really well.”<\/p>\n
