PHOENIX \u2014 A motorcyclist was hit and killed after striking a self-driving Waymo near Arizona State University\u2019s Tempe campus early on Sunday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Police responded to the area of Lemon Street and Rural Road<\/a> around 1:30 a.m. for a crash involving two cars and a motorcycle, according to the Tempe Police Department.<\/p>\n

The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries. He was later pronounced dead, authorities said.<\/p>\n

AZFamily reported<\/a> that the other vehicle involved \u201cstruck the motorcyclist and continued driving\u201d away from the scene after the motorcyclist had hit the Waymo.<\/p>\n

An investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

No other information was provided.<\/p>\n
