A remarkable 200 of the 220 White Suffolk sale rams rank in Australia\u2019s top 5 percent for the Lamb Eating Quality (LEQ) index, with the remaining 20 in the top 10pc.<\/p>\n

Ella Matta is unique in Australia in being able to offer this number of rams that are ranked this high on index.<\/p>\n

The average Terminal Carcase Production (TCP) index for the sale rams is also in the top 5pc nationally, with every single ram ranking in the top 20pc.<\/p>\n

The rams\u2019 unmatched performance extends to key traits, with average growth (WWT & PWT) and muscle (PEMD) ranking in the top 10 percent, while lambing ease, marbling (IMF), and lean meat yield all average in the top 20 percent.<\/p>\n

In addition to the White Suffolks, Ella Matta is proud to offer a robust selection of Poll Merinos, bred for the modern Merino market.<\/p>\n

These sheep feature excellent fat, muscle, and growth while maintaining a fine 17-18 micron wool.<\/p>\n

The Poll Merinos are also low maintenance, have high weaning rates, are plain-bodied, and produce high quality wool with above average fleece weights.<\/p>\n

The sale\u2019s maternal composites have also seen significant improvement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll our maternal\u2019s rank in the top 10percent in Australia for the main maternal index MCP+, with three-quarters of them in the top 5 percent,\u201d Jamie Heinrich said.<\/p>\n

This is a testament to their improved growth and muscle while still maintaining a low adult weight to maximize production per ewe and allow for higher stocking rates per hectare.<\/p>\n
