\u201cIt\u2019s a sad day in America,\u201d said event attendant Ernie Flores.<\/p>\n
Those taking part in what they called a remembrance rally said there isn\u2019t any room for violence in America.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to come out and make sure that we voice our opinion and stop this before it escalates into even more,\u201d said Flores.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll bandwidths of America have to get involved to pick up the torch. It has not dropped \u2014 we caught it,\u201d said Jay Furman.<\/p>\n
Organizers and speakers applauded Kirk\u2019s ability to reach out to young voters.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to own the debate like Charlie Kirk did,\u201d said Steve Willeford, national spokesperson for Gun Owners of America.<\/p>\n
According to University of Maryland researcher Michael Jensen, about 150 politically motivated attacks happened in the first half of 2025 \u2014 almost double the amount in the same period over previous years.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t get caught up in the attacks. Be above that and love \u2014 love through it,\u201d said Furman.<\/p>\n
After speakers shared their message, many took part in a ride in Kirk\u2019s memory.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m one of the first few cars. I got here early,\u201d said Flores.<\/p>\n
