The long-running, Tony-winning revival continues at the Ambassador Theatre.<\/p>\n

Mira Sorvino and Angela Grovey <\/p>\n

Mira Sorvino<\/a>, who won the Academy Award as well as Golden Globe,
\nCritics\u2019 Choice, National Board of Review, and New York Film Critics
\nCircle awards for her performance in Mighty Aphrodite, makes her Broadway debut beginning September 15\u00a0in the Tony-winning revival of Chicago<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actress, recently seen as Rosemary in the Starz series Shining Vale and in Ryan Murphy<\/a>\u2019s American Crime Story: Impeachment, steps into the role of Roxie Hart September 15 for a limited engagement through November 2 at the
\nAmbassador Theatre.<\/p>\n

Sorvino’s additional screen credits include Stuber, Human
\n Trafficking, Norma Jean and Marilyn, Mothers and Daughters, Summer of
\nSam, Union Square, Replacement Killers, Romy and Michelle’s High School
\nReunion, Beautiful Girls, Triumph of Love, Reservation Road, Badland,
\nCondor, Modern Family, and Startup. Upcoming films include Sound of Freedom opposite Jim Caviezel, and Lamborghini opposite Gabriel Byrne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The long-running hit also welcomes\u00a0Angela Grovey<\/a>, who made her Broadway debut in Leap of Faith,\u00a0to the role of Matron “Mama” Morton.<\/p>\n

Grovey, Krystal in the Onyx Collective\/Hulu series Reasonable Doubt,\u00a0was also seen on Broadway in\u00a0Escape to Margaritaville and the national tours of The Play That Goes Wrong and Newsies. In 2021, she was part of the cast of Jocelyn Bioh<\/a>\u2019s Merry Wives, later broadcast on PBS. Her screen credits also include Spellbound, Joyful Noise, Modern Love, 30 Rock, The Blacklist, Iron Fist, and more.<\/p>\n

The current cast of Chicago also\u00a0features Bianca Marroqu\u00edn<\/a> as Velma Kelly, Tam Mutu<\/a> as Billy Flynn,\u00a0Raymond Bokhour<\/a> as Amos
\nHart, and R. Lowe<\/a> as Mary Sunshine.<\/p>\n

The ensemble includes Zach Bravo<\/a>, David
\n Bushman, Jessica Ernest<\/a>, Jeff Gorti<\/a>, Chelsea James<\/a>, Arian Keddell<\/a>,
\nJames T. Lane<\/a>, Marty Lawson<\/a>, Joseph London, Barrett Martin<\/a>, Sharon
\nMoore, Drew Nellessen<\/a>, Celina Nightengale<\/a>, Kristen Faith Oei<\/a>, Denny
\nPaschall, Mikayla Renfrow<\/a>, Sean Samuels<\/a>, and Samantha Sturm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The revival of Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores!
\n presentations offered by City Center<\/a>. The musical opened on Broadway at
\n the Richard Rodgers Theatre in November 14, 1996, where it remained
\nthrough February 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre,
\nand played that house through January 26, 2003. The revival reopened at
\nthe Ambassador Theatre January 29 that year.<\/p>\n

Since its debut in 1996, Chicago has played in 36 countries
\nand been seen by 33 million people worldwide. It is now the
\nsecond-longest running show in Broadway history (after the recently
\nclosed The Phantom of the Opera).<\/p>\n

With a book by the late Fred Ebb<\/a> and Bob Fosse<\/a>, music by John Kander<\/a>, and lyrics by Ebb, Chicago
\n features direction by Walter Bobbie<\/a>, choreography by the late Ann
\nReinking, set design by John Lee Beatty<\/a>, costume design by William Ivey
\nLong, lighting design by Ken Billington<\/a>, sound design by Scott Lehrer<\/a>,
\nand casting by ARC.<\/p>\n

The current production, produced by Barry and Fran Weissler<\/a>, won the
\nTony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for
\nactors Bebe Neuwirth<\/a> and James Naughton<\/a>, director Bobbie, lighting
\ndesigner Billington, and Reinking. The original production was directed
