\n\tBritt Lower<\/a> took home the award for best lead actress in a drama series during Sunday night\u2019s 2025 Emmys.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tLower was nominated alongside Kathy Bates (Matlock), Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI share this award with my heroic cast and crew,\u201d the Severance<\/a> star said when taking the stage. Throughout the rest of her speech she thanked her team, family and gave a special shout-out to her character on the Apple TV+ series. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThank you for this, and thank you for Helly R for choosing me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\tFans also noticed that Lower made a subtle nod <\/a>to her character through a note written on the piece of paper she was reading her speech from. The words \u201cLET ME OUT\u201d can be seen written on the paper.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe second season of the series, created by Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson, was Apple TV+\u2019s most watched series worldwide ever, according to the streamer. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have so many answers, but the best one I can think of is that it\u2019s a show about what makes us human,\u201d Lower told THR in her Aug. 6 cover story<\/a> when asked about the show\u2019s success. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was at that point where there had been, like, three or four jobs that year that had just gone a different direction,\u201d Lower reflected on the time before scoring the role as Helly R on the Apple TV+ series. \u201cI had developed that kind of resilience that you build from rejection, and you\u2019re just like, \u2018OK, cool, it wasn\u2019t meant to be.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen she learned she got the part, Lower told THR that she fell to her knees and cried: \u201cIt was a hardwood floor, so my knees hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Apple TV+ series Severance led the nominees with a total of 27 noms, including best drama series, competing alongside\u00a0Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Slow Horses\u00a0and\u00a0The White Lotus. The Penguin\u00a0was next with a total of 24 noms; followed by\u00a0The Studio\u00a0and\u00a0The White Lotus\u00a0with 23 apiece;\u00a0The Last of Us\u00a0with 16<\/a>,\u00a0Andor\u00a0and\u00a0Hacks\u00a0with 14 each; and\u00a0Adolescence,\u00a0The Bear<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0The Pitt\u00a0with 13 apiece.\u00a0HBO and Max\u00a0<\/a>scored\u00a0the most noms<\/a>\u00a0of all platforms. <\/p>\n

\n\tLower\u2019s win follows her Severance co-star Tramell Tillman winning the Emmy for supporting actor in a drama series. <\/p>\n
