The Dallas Cowboys had to rely on some offensive players to make tackles during Sunday’s wild overtime win over the New York Giants.<\/p>\n

In fact, a trio of offensive guys had more tackles than all of the Cowboys’ defensive ends.<\/p>\n

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris<\/a> shared this stat on X:<\/p>\n

“Brevyn Spann-Ford, CeeDee Lamb and Hunter Luepke combined for more tackles (6) than the entire DE room (5).”<\/p>\n

Lamb, the star wide receiver, had a solo tackle after a Dak Prescott interception.<\/p>\n

Spann-Ford, the sizable backup tight end, made three tackles on special teams.<\/p>\n

Luepke, the fullback, added two tackles of his own on special teams.<\/p>\n

Mostly it’s just a quirk, but it does show the lack of overall impact that the Dallas defensive line had on the game.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Cowboys traded superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers right before the season started.<\/p>\n

At least for Dallas it was a bounceback Sunday in which the Cowboys improved to 1-1 and found a way past the Giants despite a massive game for Russell Wilson.<\/p>\n

Brandon Aubrey rescued Dallas at the end of regulation with a 64-yard field goal, then hit the winner at the OT buzzer from much closer.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys will take a win however they can get it. Going forward, they’d probably prefer a few more of their defensive players getting in on the action.<\/p>\n
