Deadline was in attendance at tonight\u2019s show, keeping an eye on everything unfolding when and where the cameras weren\u2019t rolling. Here\u2019s some of what we saw:<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/stephen-colbert\/\" id=\"auto-tag_stephen-colbert\" data-tag=\"stephen-colbert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Colbert<\/a> was the man of the hour<\/strong><br \/>As soon as The Late Show\u2018s Stephen Colbert hit the stage early in the night to present the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (which went to The Studio\u2018s Seth Rogen), he was met with a massive round of applause and a 30-second standing ovation. But what you might not have heard were the invigorated \u201cStephen! Stephen!\u201d as the crowd began chanting for the late-night host. He also got a rousing and extended round of applause when <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/stephen-colbert-emmys-interview-2025-talk-series-1236532432\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he won Outstanding Talk Series<\/a> later in the night. The chants returned, too. The pair exchanged a huge hug, seemingly excited to see each other just a few minutes before Hiller won his first Emmy Award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Sterling K. Brown on a scooter with an injured Achilles<\/strong><br \/>Sterling K. Brown was quite the trouper Sunday night, showing up for the ceremony despite an Achilles\u2019 heel injury. Seated in the second row, Brown had a steady flow of the night\u2019s biggest celebs coming by to greet him and wish him well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/emmy-analysis-the-studio-adolescence-the-pitt-hbo-netflix-1236531341\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018The Studio\u2019 Breaks Emmy Record, \u2018Adolescence\u2019 &amp; \u2018The Pitt\u2019 Have Big Nights As HBO Max &amp; Netflix Share Honors &amp; Apple Lands Best-Ever Awards Haul<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>A very buzzy concession stand<\/strong><br \/>There were lots of star-studded interactions happening in the lobby of Downtown L.A.\u2019s Peacock Theater, where Emmy-goers could grab concessions from cocktails to popcorn. Step out during any commercial break, and you were bound to run a star or two, like Taika Waititi and Rita Ora or The Bear\u2018s Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas (and her husband David Zayas) and Abby Elliott all snagging some snacks in between awards. Jason Isaacs and Sam Rockwell got stopped by a few drag queens eager to say hello to The White Lotus actors. Their co-star Aimee Lou Wood also got stopped for some photos while grabbing a drink.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Service dog in the lobby<\/strong> \u2013<strong>\u2013 everyone wants to stop and say hello<\/strong><br \/>Even with TV\u2019s biggest stars in attendance, the most sought-after interaction was with a service dog accompanying an <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/emmys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_emmys\" data-tag=\"emmys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emmys<\/a> guest. Everyone, and we mean everyone, was eager to get their moment with the furry guest of honor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jimmy-kimmel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jimmy-kimmel\" data-tag=\"jimmy-kimmel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> and Colbert showing each other love during a commercial break <\/strong><br \/>After lending his own Emmy campaign to his friend Stephen Colbert in light of The Late Show\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/07\/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert-ending-next-year-cbs-1236461787\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236461787\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unceremonious cancellation<\/a>, Jimmy Kimmel made sure to give him a hug during a commercial break. Kimmel even gave Colbert a friendly kiss on the cheek before snapping a photo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Massive standing ovation and applause for Adolescence star Owen Cooper<\/strong><br \/>There are not many winners who can get the entire Peacock Theater crowd on its feet, but 15-year-old Owen Cooper sure did. When we say everyone, we mean just about everyone jumped to their feet when the newcomer won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie, becoming the youngest male actor winner in history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Pedro Pascal chumming it up with the cast of The White Lotus \u2014 and pretty much everyone else<\/strong><br \/>If there was one person everyone was clambering to talk to, it was Pedro Pascal. The Last of Us nominee held court all night from the first row of the Emmys, chatting it up with some of the biggest stars in attendance from Martin Short and Tony Gilroy to Cate Blanchett and Julianne Nicholson. During one commercial break in particular, he could be seen catching up with the likes of Leslie Bibb, Sam Rockwell and Walton Goggins from another HBO hit, The White Lotus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/emmys-2025-politics-public-broadcasting-1236532279\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236532279\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emmys 2025 Politics: Congress Gets Booed For Voting To Defund Public Broadcasting<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>The boos and the cheers<\/strong><br \/>The audience always can be heard from the telecast, though sometimes their sentiments are hard to parse out. Let\u2019s just say there were a lot of boos when Television Academy chairman Chris Abrego mentioned Congress\u2019 defunding of public broadcasting. On the other hand, there were a ton of cheers when mentioning Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen\u2019s support of the LGBTQ community specifically.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hannah-einbinder\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hannah-einbinder\" data-tag=\"hannah-einbinder\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hannah Einbinder<\/a>\u2019s mention of ICE and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/palestine\/\" id=\"auto-tag_palestine\" data-tag=\"palestine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Palestine<\/a> also got quite a bit of support in the room even though CBS parent company <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/paramount-decries-israeli-film-boycott-1236530398\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount denounced a recent open letter<\/a> from thousands of members behind Film Workers for Palestine, who announced a boycott of Israeli film institutions that are <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/film-workers-for-palestine-ava-duvernay-olivia-colman-1236511823\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cimplicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people.\u201d<\/a> Inspired by the 1987 pledge made by the Filmmakers United Against Apartheid movement, FWP noted its goal \u201ctakes aim at institutional complicity, not identity,\u201d decrying Paramount \u201cmisrepresenting the pledge in an attempt to silence our colleagues in the film industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/gallery\/2025-hollywood-media-deaths-photo-gallery-obituaries\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2025 Deaths Photo Gallery: Hollywood &amp; Media Obituaries<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThose with the loudest applause during <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/emmys-2025-in-memoriam-1236531803\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the In Memoriam segment<\/a>: Ozzy Osbourne, John Amos, Maggie Smith, David Lynch and Quincy Jones. Interestingly, Severance commanded much more applause than The Pitt, even though the latter beat the former in a majority of the categories they competed in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Scarlett Johansson racing back to her seat, cocktails in hand<\/strong><br \/>With just over an hour left in the show, Scarlett Johansson was spotted rushing back to her seat as the ushers urged everyone to clear the aisles mere seconds before the end of another commercial break. She clearly was coming from concessions, as illustrated by the two cocktails in hand. She was, of course, in attendance with her Emmy-winning husband Colin Jost.
