Monday is shaping up to be all about the Houston Texans<\/a>, and the weather is playing along with a hot mid-September forecast for kickoff. <\/p>\n

The Houston area is expected to remain locked in a stretch of mid-90s temperatures for the next several days. <\/p>\n

Mostly dry skies are expected by game day, but don\u2019t put the umbrellas away just yet\u2014there\u2019s still a chance for stray showers, especially during the afternoon.<\/p>\n

By the afternoon, temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-90s, with data showing readings around 94 degrees during tailgating and pregame. <\/p>\n

This kind of pattern isn\u2019t unusual for the middle of September, with no major cold fronts or temperature relief in sight.<\/p>\n

Hit and miss showers<\/p>\n

The official kickoff at 6 p.m. should be a bit cooler, with temperatures likely hovering around 92 degrees and steadily dropping into the 80s by the fourth quarter. <\/p>\n

The best window for rain appears to be during the afternoon hours, mainly in areas north of Harris County and into places like Wharton and Matagorda, with most showers losing energy by sunset.<\/p>\n
