The current New York revival of Charles Ludlam’s 1983 camp classic\u00a0Galas opened September 14 at Little Island’s The Amph, and the reviews are in. See what critics are saying below.<\/p>\n

Running through September 28, the seldom-seen work stars countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo\u00a0as Maria Magdalena Galas, a campy take on opera star Maria Callas. The cast also includes\u00a0Carmelita Tropicana as Giovanni Baptista Mercanteggini, three-time Tony nominee Mary Testa<\/a> as Bruna Lina Rasta, Caleb Eberhart as Aristotle Plato Socrates Odysseus\/Statuesque Beauty, Erin Markey as Athina Odysseus, Patricia Black as H\u00fcre von Hoyden, Samora la Perdida as Pope Sixtus VII\/Fritalini\/Ilka Winterhalter, Austin Durant<\/a> as Prelate\/Ghingheri, and Jeremy Rafal as Franco Cogliones\/Ticket Seller\/Waiter in Train Station.
